The First Aid, CPR, and AED class trains participants to recognize and respond to common medical emergencies, perform CPR, and use an AED to manage sudden cardiac arrest. It equips laypersons and non-medical professionals with life-saving skills for emergencies in workplaces, schools, homes, or public settings.
- Laypersons: Teachers, coaches, childcare providers, workplace safety officers, parents, and community members
- Non-Medical Professionals: Security personnel, fitness trainers, lifeguards, or anyone requiring certification for work or personal preparedness
Prerequisites: No prior medical experience required. Participants should be physically capable of performing CPR (involves kneeling and applying force).
- Full Course: 4–6 hours, typically completed in one day
- Renewal/Recertification: 2–4 hours
- Blended Learning: Online coursework (2–3 hours) + in-person skills session (2–3 hours)
- In-Person: Instructor-led training with hands-on practice using manikins and AED trainers
- Blended Learning: Online modules for theory, followed by in-person skills practice and testing
- Interactive: Includes demonstrations, videos, and scenario-based practice
- First Aid Basics: Scene safety, assessment, and managing bleeding, burns, choking, allergic reactions, fractures, seizures, diabetic emergencies, poisoning, and environmental emergencies. Includes Good Samaritan laws and obtaining consent.
- CPR: High-quality compressions and rescue breathing for adults, children, and infants. Includes compression-only CPR for untrained rescuers.
- AED Use: Turning on the AED, pad placement, following prompts, and ensuring safety during shocks.
- Hands-On Practice: Simulated CPR, AED operation, and emergency role-playing using manikins and trainers.
- Assessment and Certification: Skills testing in CPR, AED use, and first aid scenarios. Optional written exam. Certification card valid for 2 years.
- Assess and ensure safety in an emergency
